WEDNESDAYS AT 6 PM
Our Staff Our Early Childhood is staffed by a team of CPR & First Aid certified coordinators for each service time. All of our ministry workers have gone through a background screening in order to serve in our Early Childhood.
When You Arrive make your way to the Early Childhood counter by turning left after entering the Main Building and walking to the end of the hall. At the counter, a staff member will meet you at the check-in area to receive your child and a baby bag. Please note any information that will help in caring for your child, such as feeding times, sleeping times, allergies, and special needs. During the check-in of your child, you will be given a card with your child’s name. To retrieve your child, return the card at the end of service. This is for the safety of the children and ensures that each child is returned to the correct parent.
Infant/ Toddlers Infants age 0-walking and Toddlers age walking-2 1/2 years old will enjoy loving attention, curriculum developed just for them, and playtime in a clean, nurturing environment.
Preschool Children, ages 2 ½ and potty trained through Preschool will learn about God’s love through His creation in classrooms that are fun and inviting. They will interact with learning stations, stories, puppets and songs that children come home signing.
Snacks Crackers and cheerios are provided for babies 9 months and older. Our toddlers 13-24 months will also have animal crackers or goldfish crackers.

We have partnered with New Hope Opportunities in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. Members of our congregation have made annual trips for the last several years to minister to the poorest people in that country. We believe in the Words of Jesus who instructed us to be His hands and feet to help the less fortunate. We are encouraged to use our God-given talents to meet the needs of others in our community. We have a passion to share the good news of Jesus Christ. A mission trip is a life-changing experience; a team is already coming together for the July 2018 trip to Honduras.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of Mine, you did for Me.”
Matthew 25:40

WE ARE
REAL PEOPLE
We are a “come as you are” church, which means: You don’t have to dress up. You don’t have to be any particular age. We couldn’t care less about who you voted for in the last election. And please don’t feel like you need to pretend about anything. FCF is full of imperfect people who are seeking God together. Whether you are just beginning your spiritual journey or have been on it for a long time, this is a place for you. So, learn at your own pace. Ask questions. Seek. We believe you’ll find what you’re looking for. You’ll learn about God. You’ll get a picture of the Christ-following life. You’ll meet others on the journey. And here’s the big thing – you will change. Join us as we seek God together.
OUR DNA
Family Community Fellowship is a local expression of the church – the collection of churches across time that follow Jesus Christ. Our heritage is the faithful example of Christian churches over the last 2000 years. Our future is to pursue the mission of introducing people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
While Christ-followers (and denominations) have the freedom to disagree on secondary issues, we’ve chosen to focus on the primary elements of the Christian faith. These elements – our most important beliefs – provide common ground for Christ-followers of many backgrounds and highlight the core of the Christian faith for new Christ-followers.
PROCESS
Anything of significance takes time to develop. We choose to honor people where they are today and encourage each person to make progress on his or her spiritual journey.
GROWING DEVOTION TO JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ transforms us over time. As we know Christ more and choose to obey His teaching, our hearts, minds, and actions become more like His.
UNCHURCHED PEOPLE
Since people outside a relationship with Jesus Christ matter to God, we are relentlessly outward-focused.
INTENTIONALITY
Everything we do has a purpose. We design every environment with the participants in mind.
AUTHENTICITY
We’re totally honest about who we are – the good, the bad, and the ugly.
SIMPLICITY
We focus for effectiveness and keep the message of Christ uncomplicated. Less is more.
RELATIONSHIPS
We’re created to know and be known by others. We encourage and challenge everyone to make spiritual progress as we do life with others.
We are affiliated with the Assemblies of God, which is a cooperative fellowship of churches throughout the United States and around the world. Our regional fellowship is the Southern California Assemblies of God.

Originally founded as GreenAcres First Assembly of God more than 50 years ago, the church first met in a tent in an almond orchard north of downtown Bakersfield. The congregation built its first permanent building on property that is now the corner of Rosedale Highway and Calloway Drive.
In the mid-1990s, as the area grew, the church sold its land to K-Mart and moved to a new, debt-free, 100-seat facility at 10700 Brimhall Road. Shortly after, Pastor Steve and Mardi Yeary moved from Texas to lead the church, which had about 27 members.
The church changed its name to Brimhall Road Assembly of God to reflect its new location. As the church grew, it added new ministries, a more modern music style, and additional services. In 2009, the church completed a new 400-seat worship center and changed the name to Family Community Fellowship (FCF) to align with the mission of building strong families and highlighting the importance of Christian community.
In May of 2025, Family Community Fellowship entered into a strong new partnership for the future with Canyon Hills Assembly of God. Pastor Steve Yeary’s role has shifted to Lead Transitional Pastor, and FCF has now welcomed Pastors Kevin and Misty Caudle as Campus Pastors of this great church.
FCF is passionate about taking the Gospel from the neighborhoods in Northwest Bakersfield to the nations of the world until every person has heard the Good News of Jesus Christ.
It is our prayer that you will find that FCF is a friendly, encouraging church. We believe community is of utmost importance in your Christian walk, so whether you’re new or you’ve called FCF home for a while, we encourage you to connect with a group and build relationships with other people.

About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right. As Christians we seek to live under His control daily. References: II Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16, 17; and Acts 1:8.
About the Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. References: II Timothy 1:13, 3:16; II Peter 1:20, 21; Psalm 119:105, 160, 12:6; and Proverbs 30:5.
About Human Beings
People are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like Him in character. People are the supreme object of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for God, all of us are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God, called “sin”. This attitude separates people from God and causes many problems in life. References: Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6: Isaiah 53:6a; Romans 3:23; and Isaiah 59:1,2.
About Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us, but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. When we turn from our self-ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith. References: Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8; John 14:6; 1:12; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; and Romans 5:1.
About Eternity
People were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in unison with Him is eternal life. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. References: John 2:25, 3:16, 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15; and Matthew 1:8, 2:44,46.
